St. Luke’s partners with Grossman Burn Centers of California to bring Arizonans a restorative approach to burn treatment.
St. Luke’s Medical Center announced today that it has signed an agreement with Grossman Burn Centers (GBC) of West Hills, Calif., to establish a new burn center specializing in a multidisciplinary approach that seeks to provide life-saving medical care and restore patients as close to their pre-injury condition as possible – functionally, emotionally and cosmetically.
“Grossman Burn Centers brings years of expertise and an innovative approach to burn treatment,” said Ed Myers, CEO, St. Luke’s Medical Center. “With our well-established Wound Center and surgical programs, and a strong team of highly qualified physicians on the medical staff and health care professionals, we are ready to expand this much-needed service in Arizona.”
The burn center will offer comprehensive treatment (acute to reconstruction) to all age groups – infant to adult. The center will operate in collaboration with GBC medical director, Peter H. Grossman, M.D., FACS. The interdisciplinary team of physicians on the medical staff will be led by an accomplished plastic surgeon trained in restorative burn care.
“An important part of our program includes collaboration with local fire departments, as well as community physicians and organizations, to bring prevention education and resources to the communities we serve,” said Lorena Silva, Chief Nursing Officer, St. Luke’s Medical Center.
In addition to critical care and reconstructive surgical treatment of burns, the hospital will offer comprehensive burn-related services, including inpatient intensive and intermediate care, outpatient burn services, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, psychology services and rehabilitation. The center is scheduled to open this summer.
