Prevention of Burns to Children
Approximately 70% of children’s admissions in the Grossman Burn Center are children 5 and under.
80% of burn injuries are PREVENTABLE.
Careful, That’s Hot! is a Home Safety Program presented by a prevention educator from the Grossman Burn Center. It is a burn prevention presentation for parents, caregivers and babysitters of children under the age of 5. The presentation, available in English or Spanish, is approximately 45 minutes in length and teaches participants about burn risks in the home and how to protect young children from the trauma of burn injuries. Participants will learn simple tips to make their homes safe and basic first aid for burns should an injury occur.
Careful, That’s Hot is a partnership program funded by the Children’s Burn Foundation.
